Our Story

American Commerce Bank started in West Georgia in October of 2004 as Peoples Community National Bank. In an effort to better personify the bank's mission to cater to the needs of owner managed businesses, on February 1, 2015, Peoples Community National Bank became American Commerce Bank.  The bank recently increased its market share by acquiring a bank in Tallahassee, Florida and starting a branch in Johns Creek, GA.

On June 1, 2015, American Commerce Bank completed the acquisition of ProBank of Tallahassee, a Florida state-chartered bank with two locations within the capitol city.  ProBank then merged into American Commerce Bank whose corporate headquarters are located in Bremen, GA.

According to bank officials, American Commerce Bank was attracted to the college town of Tallahassee, home to both Florida State and Florida A&M University, due to its vibrant market for loans and the more than doubling of the city’s population since 2010.  In January of 2015, ProBank had approximately $45.8 million of total assets, $27.6 million of loans and $39.8 million of deposits. The bank has also recently expanded into the Atlanta metro area starting a new branch in the Johns Creek community. American Commerce Bank has seen tremendous growth since June 30, 2012, nearly tripling its assets, grown loans by over $90 million, and is one of the best capitalized banks in the state of Georgia.

American Commerce Bank focuses on providing tailored solutions that meet the needs of owner managed businesses.  By focusing its efforts on a specific target market, American Commerce Bank is able to design product offerings that will make a difference for small to medium sized business owners looking for creative solutions to expand their operations.
